Text 1

M: How much do tickets for the movie cost, please?

W: They're 8 dollars for adults, half price for students.

M: Give me three student tickets, please.

Text 2

W: What are you going to do for the weekend?

M: It depends. If it's fine, I'll go fishing. And if it rains, I'll stay indoors and do some writing. What about you?

W: I am not sure yet.

Text 3

M: Do you want to go to the Star Club with me tonight? I'm going with some of my friends.

W: Not really. They overcharge for drinks and foods. I'd rather go to a bar nearby, though it may be a little noisy.

Text 4

M: How are your swimming lessons going?

W: Very well. The lessons are worth the time and trouble. I have lost a lot of weight.

M: I'm glad to hear that.

Text 5

W: Have you sent an invitation to Laura?

M: Rosa?

W: No. I said Laura, not Rosa. Laura, Maria's sister.

M: Yes. I've done that. But should we also invite Maria?

Text 6

W: You look like you're over the moon. What happened?

M: Guess what! The job interview went well. I received an offer from Mercedes-Benz!

W: Mercedes-Benz? Congratulations! Its S-Class is my dream car. Tell me more. Will you be a salesman?

M: No. I will be a secretary first, and then I'll move up to be a manager's assistant if I do better next year. I don't mind working extra hours, but the hardest thing is that this position will require frequent travel.

W: Does it pay well?

M: No, not very well, but I value the experience far more than the money, since I'm very new to the workplace. It will be tiring, but I will surely learn a lot.

W: Yes, you're right. No pain, no gain.

Text 7

W: Thanks for showing me the computer room.

M: No problem. We are glad when our teachers use this room.

W: So, how many computers are in here?

M: Well, there are 35 in total. But right now, two of them aren't working…

W: I see. Well, I have 34 students, so it seems I'm one short.

M: I understand. We're hoping to have them repaired by next week. Do you have a key to this room?

W: No. Where can I get one?

M: If you go to the office, they can give you one.

W: All right. I'll go do that right away.

Text 8

W: Mark is left alone at home. He doesn't look anxious, but I know he's just pretending to be brave. I'm afraid that he can't deal with emergencies. You know he's only 16.

M: Oh, honey, take it easy!

W: But we have to make sure that he knows what to do in case of emergency.

M: Of course he does. He took part in the first-aid training program last month and passed the exam.

W: The exam? It cannot help absolutely in reality.

M: Hmm, you have a point.

W: I have got a solution. Let's create an emergency situation for him. Then he'll have real-life experience instead of the theory.

M: Shh! Keep the plan between us.

Text 9

W: Hey, welcome to Berlin! It's great to see you again.

M: Yeah, good to see you too! Have you been waiting here at the station long?

W: Only fifteen minutes. But let's get out of here and go to my apartment! How are you feeling after that long bus ride?

M: Ah, it was bad. It took nineteen hours.

W: That's crazy! You could have flown here for 60 euros, and it would only have taken an hour and a half. Was it really worth all that time, just to save a bit of money?

M: Well, it was a pretty uncomfortable ride, to be honest. The bus smelled till the end of the trip, and there was a guy next to me who was breathing really loudly while he was sleeping. I was in no mood to enjoy the views along the way. But the reason why I took the bus was that it's more environmentally friendly than flying.

W: I think it's great that you want to help the environment. But you look so exhausted right now. I just think you should be a little more careful with your health.

M: Well, I wasn't expecting the bus to be so unpleasant. But you're right. Next time I visit you, I'll probably fly.

Text 10

M: Now for some news about a summer holiday activity club called Let's Do It! So, the first thing. This is a club for children and teenagers between the ages of 10 and 17. So if you're feeling bored and you'd like to be busier this summer, think about joining it. You'll learn something useful and make new friends too. This isn't a weekend club. It meets every Monday during the holidays. That's in the afternoon and members will take part in all kinds of fun projects. For example, you may learn to make dishes or write a story in the club. Next week, you'll learn something about being an engineer because you'll be put into teams and will learn to build a bridge! How exciting! The club is free and the only thing you need to bring next week is gloves! If this sounds interesting, why not call to find out more? The number — have you got your pencils ready? — is 536621. Now for some music.
