1. W: I like bananas. How about you, David? 

M: I like tomatoes. They are my favourite.

2. W: How can we make the eggs more delicious, Dad?

M: We can add some honey to them. It’ll help.
3. W: How much milk do we need?

M: About one cup. And we also need three bananas and two cups of sugar.

4. M: Do you know how to make a fruit salad, Nancy?

W: Yes, I do. My mom taught me how to make it last year.

5. M: What are you going to do?

W: I want to buy some bananas and ice cream. What about you?

M: I want to make a banana milk shake for my mother.

W: I’m hungry, Bill. What’s for dinner?

M: We can make dumplings. Do you like to eat dumplings, Lisa?

W: Sure. Dumplings are my favourite. Let’s make some together.

M: OK. We need two carrots and some beef.

W: Yes, and some salt. Oh, we don’t have any salt. I must go and buy some now.

W: Dad, what can I do?

M: Could you help me wash the potatoes? I will cut them later.

W: OK. There are some beans in the basket. Do I need to wash any, too?

M: Sure.

W: Dad, I saw you put the meat in the pot. How long should we boil it?

M: We should boil the meat for one hour first; after adding the vegetables we should boil it for another half an hour.

W: OK. I just can’t wait to enjoy it.

W: Americans usually eat three meals a day. Breakfast usually comes before eight o'clock in the morning. They usually have eggs, some meat, bread, fruit juice and coffee. Lunch is between twelve o'clock and one o'clock. It is like a light meal and working people must take lunch with them or have it near their workplace. Children at school take sandwiches, fruit, and cookies with them or eat at school. Supper, the main meal, is between six o'clock and eight o'clock in the evening. People cook it carefully. They may have beef, chicken, turkey or duck. They may also have potatoes, rice, vegetables or salad. The drink is coffee, tea or milk. Then comes the dessert.
