M: Lucy, what was your first job?

W: Well, I was an assistant in a cake shop. It was my last year at high school. I had to earn money for myself because my parents couldn’t afford my education.

M: Was it a nice place to work?

W: Generally speaking, it was a nice place. The best part was the wonderful smell of bread baking. But we had to keep everything clean, and that was hard.

M: How long did you work there?

W: For nearly one year.

M: What about your second job?

W: I taught in a primary school where I felt an urgent need to help children who couldn’t afford their education.

M: So you began your current project?

W: Yes. After I stopped working there, I began my project, through which I collect money from others who also want to do something for the poor children.

M: Anyhow, it is valuable.

W: It really is. If possible, I will continue doing it forever.

I am glad to tell you something exciting. We had a sports meeting in our school last Friday! At about 8:30 am, all the students arrived at the playground. I took part in the long jump and Lisa took part in the high jump.

The tug-of-war between Class Three and Class One was the most interesting event in the morning. It was at 11 am. And Class Three won it.

The events in the afternoon were the 400-meter race, bicycle race, basketball game and tennis game. My classmate Maria took part in the 400-meter race. Though she fell down accidentally, she persisted in completing the race finally with great pain. Frank was regarded as the best basketball player in our school. He helped his team win the basketball game.

The sports meeting ended at 5 pm. All of the students were excited. We looked forward to the next sports meeting in our school.
