The Moon
Look at the sky on a clear night, and you will see the bright Moon. The Moon is made of rocks and dust(灰尘). There is no air, water or life on the Moon. The Moon is near the Earth. It is about 380,000 km away.
The Moon does not make its own light. It reflects(反射)the Sun’s light. The Moon goes around the Earth. It takes the Moon about one month to go all the way around the Earth at a time. The Moon looks different at different times from the Earth, but it never really changes. Because of the Sun’s light, the shapes of the Moon we see are different. We see different amounts of the Sun’s light on the Moon.
People are always interested in the Moon. They want to know what things there are on the Moon. Scientists(科学家) have studied the Moon for a long time. Neil Armstrong(尼尔·阿姆斯特朗)and Buzz Aldrin(巴兹·奥尔德林)are the first two people to walk on the Moon. They walked on the Moon on July 20,1969. Scientists have sent many spaceships to the Moon since then, and some astronauts have walked on it.
