W: Hi, Tony. There were a couple of calls for you while you were out. A woman named Melissa phoned. She said she couldn't make it to the meeting tomorrow.

M: Any other messages?

W: Yeah. Someone called about the apartment in the town center.His name is Jackie, but he didn't leave his number.

M: Didn't Angelica call me?

W: Yeah, she called about the party tonight. She wanted you to phone her back. And a guy called Simon said he would return your call at around 5:00.

W: Hi. My name's Annie.

M: Annie. Oh, you're Jim's friend!

W: Yeah. We worked in the same office until he moved to Hawaii. You look a lot like Jim. Are you related?

M: Yeah, we're cousins. His mum and my mum are sisters.

W: Do you live around here?

M: No, I live in San Francisco. I just came for the wedding.

W: One day I'd like to buy an electric car. They're much cleaner than petrol cars. But I'm not sure if I'll see many on the road in the near future.

M: But you can buy one.

W: Really?

M: Sure. They have the most powerful engine. Unfortunately they're much more expensive than petrol cars. But what makes me anxious is that when they're cheaper, more people will buy them. With more cars on the road, we'll have more traffic jams, especially at eight in the morning.

W: Yes. I try to avoid the rush hour now. I leave home before seven.

M: In Melbourne, drivers are not allowed to park cars along busy roads during the rush hour. This town needs better public transport. The buses don't go to the right places. And they are always late. Last week I waited for a No. 29 bus for over an hour...

W: What's that on your face, Dad? You scared me! I thought you were someone who broke into the house!

M: It's mud. It's good for the skin.

W: Does your face really feel different after you take the mud off?

M: Yes, it feels like my skin is many years younger. Some of my wrinkles are even going away. Do you want to try it?

W: Well, I'm only sixteen years old.I don't think I need to feel younger.

M: But I've noticed your face is very oily sometimes, and that other times it's very dry. This mud is sure to help you with that. It clears your skin and leaves your face looking bright and fresh.

W: I'll try it. I've been feeling bad about my looks lately. Maybe this will help!

There are some great things to see and do at the Cookery School.We'll see how you can grow your own vegetables in the science room.We'll learn how to make pizza and chocolate cake in the kitchen, and then we'll eat them in the dining room.

Now listen carefully! You need to give me ￡9.55 before Thursday, but please tell your parents that this includes the bus and ￡6.00 for lunch.You don't have to make sandwiches for this trip and you can't take any food into the Cookery School anyway.
