M: Sure. No problem.

W: Uh... Excuse me, how long does it take to get there?

M: Well, that all depends on the traffic, but it shouldn't take more than 30 minutes.

W: Oh, by the way, do you know what time the museum closes?

W: I'm trying to organize a group to play at some parties on weekends. We still need a guitar player.

M: Well, your idea sounds fun to me.

W: It will be. Besides, it's a great chance to get out and meet people.

M: But I haven't practiced for a long time.I don't know if I can remember any songs I used to play.

W: Don't worry about it. We'll be practicing for a few months before we give performances.

M: OK, I'll have a try.

听下面一段对话,回答第11至第13三个小题。现在你有15秒钟的时间阅读这三个小题。

M: Can I help you?

W: Yes. My professor asked us to read a book called Social Psychology. The computer shows that it hasn't been checked out. But I haven't been able to find it.

M: Let me see. Oh, yes. Your professor has kept this book in reserve. You need to go to a special room called the reserve room. Your professor has made sure that everyone can read it by keeping it in reserve.

W: So will I be able to find this book?

M: Yes. When a book is in reserve, a student can go to the reserve room and ask the librarian for the book. The student can have the book for a few hours and it can't be taken out of the library during the time.

W: OK. Thank you. I understand now. By the way, how can I go to the reserve room?

M: It's on the fourth floor, next to the reading room.

听下面一段对话,回答第14至第17四个小题。现在你有20秒钟的时间阅读这四个小题。

W: Hey, John, can I talk to you for a minute?

M: Hi, Linda. Sure, what's up?

W: I want to let you know about a book club I joined a couple months ago. I know you did a lot of reading, so I think you might want to come with me next month.

M: Oh, that sounds like fun. When does the group meet?

W: Usually the last Saturday of every month at 8:30 in the evening. Is that too late for you?

M: No, I think that's OK. What do you talk about in the group?

W: Well, every month we choose a new book, and then during the next meeting we discuss it.

M: What book are you reading now?

W: The Kite Runner.

M: What's it about?

W: The book is about a boy who grew up in Afghanistan in the late 1970s and early 1980s. I think it's called The Kite Runner because the main character takes part in a kite flying competition. It is a good book. I'm almost finished.

M: That sounds really interesting. I'd love to come.

W: OK, great. The next meeting is in two weeks, so you still have time to read the book.

听下面一段独白,回答第18至第20个小题。现在你有15秒钟的时间阅读这个小题。

W: Good morning, boys and girls. My name is Alice Lee. As new members in our school, you must feel very excited and at the same time a little bit lost about what to do in the university. I'm a member of an English club in our school. If you feel that your spoken English is not so good and want to improve it or you just long for a chance to help your fellow students with their oral English, I strongly advise you to join our English club. Now we have more than two hundred members. It aims to help you gain more confidence in your English ability. To reach this goal, it will provide you with a great variety of lively activities, such as weekly English Corner discussions, monthly singing competitions, yearly English speaking contests and so on. We will also show English films from America and England. Through these activities, you can practice your oral English and your listening skills. You can just come to our club with your student ID card or visit our website and register your personal information. I do hope you can improve your oral English. So, don't hesitate to come and join us!
