Volunteers and volunteer service

       Volunteers are also called volunteer workers. They are committed to(全心全意投入) contributing to social progress without any rewards(回报). The United Nations defines it as a member who does not aim at profit(利益), money or fame, but for the sake of(为了) his neighbors and even the world.

       Volunteer service is a kind of organized helping behavior. It refers to the service provided by people to promote(促进) human development and social progress without material compensation(补偿).

       There are many kinds of volunteer service, including volunteer work in schools, community and so on.
