Between a Rock and a Hard Place

       Aron Ralston was born in 1975 and he was an American climber. After graduating from Carnegie Mellon University(卡内基梅隆大学), he worked for Intel Corporation. In 2002, he quitted his job and made up his mind to climb the mountains in Colorado(科罗拉多州). One year later, when he was climbing in Utah, he had an accident. His right forearm was crushed by a huge rock and could not move. He had to use a knife to cut off half of his right arm to survive.

       After recovering from the injury, Aron decided to record the unusual experience and began to write a book named Between a Rock and a Hard Place. 

       The book was published in 2004. It describes Aron’s real experience of that serious accident, enlightens(启发) readers to think about how to face difficulties in life and reveals（展示） the courage needed in the face of adversity(困境).

       In 2010, British director Danny Boyle made Aron’s adventure into a movie, named 127 Hours.
