W: You could have been at the concert and enjoyed a big music festival!

M: Yes. I should have gone to buy the tickets in advance. But now, I can only listen to music online in my room.

M: Hurry up, Jane. We’re going to be late. The film will begin at eight o’clock.

W: I am hurrying. We’ve still got 20 minutes left.

M: I don’t think we can get to the cinema in less than half an hour.

W: Jason, what a mess in your room! I am always cleaning it up for you.

M: Sorry, I’m preparing for my chemistry project. I’ll tidy it up after a while.

W: That’s all right.

W: What happened?

M: I sent an unfinished report to my manager.

W: It doesn’t matter. It’s not the end of the world.

M: I know. I just can’t help feeling that something bad might happen.

M: I’d like to go on a boat trip around the world. It’s more interesting than others for me.

W: I’d get bored quickly on the boat. Flying is my first choice. It’s time-saving and offers a good view.

M: But for me, I’d like to relax on the boat and have a waiter bring me a drink when I want one.

M: Good morning, Tina. This is the first day you work here. Let me tell you your duties. Your main duty is to answer the phone calls and get the phones connected.

W: I see. What else should I do?

M: Well, you are also responsible for getting all files in order.

W: All right.

M: If you have any questions, I will help you.

W: Thank you.

听下面一段对话,回答第8至第9两个小题。现在你有10秒钟的时间阅读这两个小题。

W: Welcome to Subway Restaurant. What can I get for you?

M: I’d like a cup of lemon juice.

W: OK. And today’s daily specials are the steak and the cheese sandwich.

M: Mmm, steak sounds good. But I think I’m going to go with chicken today.

W: No problem. And what kind of bread would you like with that? We have Italian bread, honey wheat bread, whole wheat bread…

M: Whole wheat bread, please… Oh, wait, honey wheat bread, please.

W: No problem.

听下面一段对话,回答第10至第12三个小题。现在你有15秒钟的时间阅读这三个小题。

M: Hello. This is James Green from Channel 4 News. Today, we are interviewing Director Sally Roberts. Sally, thanks for joining us.

W: You’re welcome, James.

M: Well, let’s start off the interview with a few basic questions. First of all, where are you from?

W: I’m originally from Miami, but we moved to New York when I was three years old. I lived there until I was 17, and then I moved to Los Angeles.

M: Okay, and where did you go to college?

W: I attended the Georgia Film Academy.

M: Would you please tell our listeners who had a big influence on your decision to be a director?

W: All of my teachers had great influence on my decision. But my parents affected me most. Instead of trying to pick out a job for me, they just told me to follow my heart.

听下面一段对话,回答第13至第16四个小题。现在你有20秒钟的时间阅读这四个小题。

M: Good morning, madam. May I help you?

W: Good morning. I’m coming for your apartment for rent.

M: Yes. It’s a two-bedroom apartment close to the university and the rent is nine hundred and fifty dollars per month.

W: I’m wondering if keeping pets is allowed.

M: Well, we don’t allow dogs, but if your pet is a cat, that’s fine.

W: Great. I do have a cat. So you said the rent is eight hundred and fifty per month?

M: It’s nine hundred and fifty and the rent is due on the first of the month.

W: Oh, I almost forgot the most important question. Is it quiet? I work nights. I need it to be quiet so I can get my sleep during the day.

M: Oh, yes. The building is in a very quiet block.

W: OK. When can I move in? I start my new job on the fifth of May and I’d like some time to settle into my new apartment first.

M: You can move in this Tuesday, May 1st.

W: That’s perfect.

M: How about coming by the office on Monday, April 30th? We can deal with the paperwork together.

听下面一段独白,回答第17至第20四个小题。现在你有20秒钟的时间阅读这四个小题。

W: I was born before my sister Stacy, 2 minutes and 58 seconds earlier, to be exact! I’ve always been really proud to be the elder one. We are twins, but we don’t look the same. There are some twins who look alike and others who don’t. And our personalities couldn’t be more different. I’m outgoing and loud, and I play sports whenever I can. My sister is quiet and shy, and she prefers to read books. We grew up in the Midwest. Our parents were both professors at Ohio University. Personally, I feel lucky that our parents didn’t try to do silly things like dressing us up in the same clothes when we were little. As kids, my sister and I developed our own language that only we two could understand. It made our parents really upset, and that only made us use it more! I can still remember that day my sister and I left for colleges on opposite sides of the country — she went to Harvard and I to Stanford. Both places seemed really far away. I felt like our lives would change forever, but they didn’t. We’re now in our mid-thirties, and we’ve never been closer!
