M: Helen, why don't we make a poster for wildlife protection?
W: Fine, Alex. Did the lecture given by Professor Lee the other day inspire you to do that?
M: No. Actually, I saw a documentary film about wildlife yesterday. It's so amazing and educational.
Text2
M: Oh no, Margaret! I totally forgot the history paper is due this Friday. I need to write 20,000 words in two days.
W: You need to hurry up then. I've already written more than half of it. I think I can submit it one day early.
Text3
W: Our local library is having a book sale to raise money for a new library building.
M: Yeah. All second-hand books will be on sale for just $2. I'll check it out this weekend. Would you like to go together?
W: Of course.
Text4
M: Come in, Mrs. Rose. What seems to be bothering you?
W: I feel pain all over and I have a terrible fever.
M: You go very red in the face. Let me do some tests to see what's causing it.
Text5
M: Where did you get your dresses, Lucy? They're always so pretty and well designed.
W: My brother is a fashion designer. He makes all my dresses. Designing for me helps him try out creative concepts. Now he's making me a new one for spring with a bright flower pattern.
M: Nice. I can't wait to see it.

W: Hasn't the printer been fixed yet,Frank? It's been broken since last Wednesday.
M: I know,Anna. I'll call the engineer again.
W: We haven't been able to use it for a whole week. This is going to affect our business.
M: Perhaps we should look at going paper-free in the future, and then we won't need to print so many documents.
W: Yes, that's a good suggestion in the long term. But at the moment, can you go to a print shop and print all these files off? We need three copies of each.
M: No problem.
Text7
M: Are you OK, Hayley? You look like you're carrying the weight of the world on your shoulders.
W: I've been offered another job, Almon, but I don't know whether to accept it or not.
M: Does it offer higher pay or better opportunities?
W: Both. And it doesn't require the employees to be in the company all the time, so I can work from home. That's what attracts me most.
M: Sounds great. So what's holding you back?
W: Well, leaving the current team will be tough. I've been with them for nearly ten years.
M: True, but a new challenge might be exactly what you need.
W: You're right, Almon. I'll speak to the boss tomorrow. It's great to have such a good friend like you at this moment.
Text8
W: I've just booked a taxi, Henry. It'll be here at 9 p.m. to take us to the airport.
M: It's so early, Laura. I haven't even finished packing yet.
W: You'd better hurry up. You don't want to be late for the flight, right?
M: Yes, that's true. I can't believe we're finally going on our dream holiday.
W: I know. We've been talking about going to China for two years.
M: I'm just happy to be getting away from the awful British weather for fourteen days.
W: Me too. All my things have been packed. What do you need me to help with?
M: I think all my clothes will fit in the suitcase, but I'd like to take my camera with me. Will it fit in yours?
W: Yes, there's some spare room in my suitcase.
M: Great. Thanks.
Text9
M: I've been thinking about doing something meaningful, Emma. Do you have any suggestions?
W: Why not build on the volunteer work you do at the old people's home, Brad?
M: Great. Maybe I could start an organization for the elderly.
W: That's a wonderful idea. What would be the aim of it?
M: To provide health care and support for the elderly, and keep them company. Many old people live alone and need help.
W: How would you start?
M: First, I need to understand the specific needs of the elderly. After that, I'll set up a website and then reach out to local communities for volunteers.
W: Don't you need to consider collecting money as well?
M: I could hold a series of events to raise money at the beginning. Then, if my organization is successful, I think I'll see if the government could offer me some support.
W: And you could ask existing organizations how they got started. They may provide something valuable.
M: Nice idea. I know my uncle and some friends are working for a homeless charity. I'll talk to them and learn from them.
W: Great. This new charity of yours could positively impact the lives of many old people.
Text10
M: Hello, everyone. I'm Dr. Watson. Your headmaster has invited me here today to talk to you about something very important — your physical health. Don't worry, I'm not going to tell you all to start running more or eating less chocolate or other sweets. But there are small changes you can make in your life that will benefit your growth and health. First, move around a bit every day. Our bodies are designed for movement. You can, maybe, go for a walk outside, dance in your room, or go for a bike ride. Second, water is essential for life, so make sure you drink enough of it. Third, eat more fresh fruit and vegetables. They're like the superheroes of food. Avoid only eating meat and try to fill your plate with vegetables of different colors.Last but not least, make sure you get enough sleep at night, especially when you are busy studying. It's the most important in my view. After all, your body needs that time to recharge. Remember, you need a good, strong body so that you can get things done!
