3.W: I'm afraid of snakes. But my father has a snake as a pet. What pet do you have?

M: I have a goldfish. It swims around all day.

M:I like monkeys best and I think they are clever.

M: I'm watching the ants. Our teacher told us to do so.

8.W: Why did the little cat sound like a ghost?

M: It hurt one of its front legs, so when it miaowed, it made a strange noise.

9.W: Do you like CCTV News?

M: No, I don’t. But I like Animal World and Travel Around the World.

10.W: What's wrong with you, young man?

M: I hurt my left leg yesterday. I fell on the ground when I rode my bike.

本部分共有10道小题，你将听到一段对话和两篇短文，各听两遍。

听一段对话，回答第11—12小题。

W: Excuse me, do you have any books about animals?

M: Let me see. Oh, here it is.

W: What is it about, pandas or giraffes?

M: Giraffes. Amazing things about them. It says that a giraffe has only seven bones in its long neck.

W: Great. How long can I keep it?

M: For two weeks. I have something else to read this week.

W: OK. I'll give it back in two weeks. Bye.

M: See you.

W: In our city there is a zoo. There are many animals in it. There are some tigers and lions. They eat much meat every day.

There are also two big elephants and a baby one. The elephants are nice. They eat much grass and many bananas. Elephants like bananas very much.

M:There are lots of amazing things in the world. Giraffes are the tallest animals on land. The baby giraffe is about six feet tall at birth. It doesn't seem small, does it? The baby giraffe can stand up when it is only twenty minutes old.

Do you like goldfish? Most goldfish have a short life. But a goldfish called George lived up to 44 years. Elephants can live up to 80 years. They are large animals, so they need to eat plenty of food. They spend as many as seventeen hours a day eating.
