M:David was a middle school student. He was born in a small town near London. He knew some French, but he couldn't speak it very well. One day he went to Paris for a holiday. At lunchtime, he came into a big restaurant. He wanted to have some eggs. But he could not remember the French word. He looked around and found a picture of a hen on the table next to him. He showed it to the waiter. "What do you call her children?" David asked. "Chicks," the waiter answered. "And what do you call chicks before they were born?" "Eggs." "Very good,"said David. "Bring me two eggs and a glass of milk, please."

W: Karl was at home with his brother Michael and his sister Addy. As he looked through the window, he saw a big panda with an umbrella in the backyard. He shouted to Michael. Then they went out. Addy was already there talking to the panda. Karl was shy, so Michael introduced himself and Karl to the panda. The panda said he came suddenly because the wind brought his umbrella here. The next day, Addy walked towards the panda's house with a cake. In return, the panda told Addy a story about kindness. The panda also told Michael a story about luck and a story about happiness to Karl.
